Mara Gwen

I’m very pleased to present the second Times & Seasons baby of the month, my daughter Mara Gwen. Mara was born March 25, just past midnight, after a positively enjoyable pregnancy, a gentle and tolerable labor, and an extremely quick delivery. At 7 lbs 7 oz, 20 1/2 inches, and with lots of long dark hair, she’s just about perfect, we think.

Mara was named to honor her parents’ maternal grandmothers, Maurine Bentley Hansen and Gwendolyn Brown Sutton. After ten days, we think she’s inherited their vigor, energy, and vitality, as well. Welcome Mara!

Your daughter is clearly destined for greatness.

After seeing the surnames of her grandparents, I think we are probably related.

Oh, and I can testify to the vigor and vitality of Mara’s great-grandmother Sis. Sutton. I was in her ward as a teenager.

Oh, I wondered where you were! I want a grandbaby, NOW! Will your mom share? If so, I’ll be right up to hog the baby.

Yes, Rosalynde, Mara Gwen appears to be unusually wise. Preparing to recite the Articles of Faith in a few months, no doubt! Congratulations.

Dearest Rosalynde, I’m happy to hear about your family prospering in the land but please know I’m still reserving a corner lab for John here at the Cancer Center! I miss you, write soon! Love, J.
