Times and Seasons Welcomes Dave Banack…

…or, as you likely know of him, DMI Dave.

Let me confess: Dave’s Mormon Inquiry is one of those Bloggernacle blogs that I’ve for too long taken for granted. For nearly three and half years, it’s always been there, collecting and commenting upon just about everything having to do with Mormon scholarship, history, politics, culture, theology and more, week after week, month after month. DMI has given us Bloggernacle and news feed round ups, endless book recommendations, smart and topical reviews, and some of the pithiest blogging around. And now DMI has given Times and Seasons (well, loaned rather, for a few weeks at least)…Dave himself.

David Banack is an attorney who lives and works in Orange County, California. He has a JD from the Chapman University School of Law, a Master’s in economics from UC Davis, and a BA in political science from BYU. He joined the LDS Church at age 15 as the first Mormon in his family, and subsequently served an mission to France and Switzerland. He is happily married with three talented kids. (No suprise there!) Besides running the Mormon Inquiry weblog since 2003, he also spent a little over a year in the trenches at BCC…but we won’t talk about that now.

Anyway, welcome Dave! It’s going to be fun.

Dave, does this spell the end of the last solo blogger? I guess we still have Jeff Lindsay…

Thanks for the kind words, Russell. The longer one blogs, the harder it is to come up with something new to say, but I’ll do my best to be as entertaining as prior T&S guest bloggers.

Matt W., I plan to fire up the solo blog again in August.

Welcome, Dave! Somehow, I missed until now that you live OC — explains your interest in my comments about the NB Temple’s open house.

Wow! This is very good news. DMI has always been, in my mind, the prime example and standard for excellence in solo Mormon blogging.

Welcome Dave! I am looking forward to reading what you have to say, and I have always thought that DMI was one of the best Mormon blogs around….

    Isn’t “Mormon bloggernacle” redundant?

I didn’t know you were in OC. You’d better come to the bloggersnacker. And drag gst with you.
